prancing along...

I say! I say old chaps! Well obviously my journal ere has stoned around collecting dust and cobwebs. It's time to dust my creaky fingertips and start polishing up the keyboard. I've succumbed to using my old Toshiba laptop, which I must state, is slow. I think this is the longest i've never updated my weblog, and I must say that it is just so unethical! I am ashamed at myself. I must now throw myself off the cliffs of cyberspace and drown in a black hole of viruses, trojan worms and what not.

So first day of uni! Second semester of freshman Mish. It went by very very fast. My lectures are only one hour (woohoo!) but the downfall is the 4 hour gap between them. I tried to get a tutorial to fill the gap but what the!?!?!? The 23 places were all taken up already! Crazies I tell you! So i've settled for the tutorial after my final lecture of the day. The people in the arts I think are on the edge of insanity. I guess that's why we're all genius and have a head exploding with ideas *cough cough.* My 'Principles of Multimedia' lecturer though has quite a colourful vocab though. I don't know whether I should complain, but he's a good lecterer. AND I thought I escaped the grasp of Philosophy! This unit is filled with Post-modernism! I shall persist to ztay POSITIVE! 'Screen Production I' is very intense too! I already have two major assignments thrown in my face. But the cool thing with Screen is that the majority of assignments are group assessed. Aye, Principles of MM is very philosophical as well as psychological. A lot of advertising stuff. My first assignment, a bricolage. Don't ask me what it is, but I guess i'll need to do my readings and figure it out myself! But the first thing that caught my eye when I saw my Screen lecturer was her laptop (I like her last name too, Rodriga, it's so WICKED!) In a darkened room the front desk was illuminated by a glowing Apple. I'm getting drowned in Macintosh. Nearly every Multimedia/Media lecturer has a Power Book. Everything is so culturally orientated, so i can't risk being ignorant about other cultures. What's cool about my course is that all these areas can be explored! Tis why I want to travel the world and capture the essence of their culture on film, but everything's so digitised now a days I should be saying, "..capture the essence of their culture on HARD DISK".

Ooooooh i'm starting waffle. Anywhos! I went home during the 4 hour break to perv on some really hot swimmers on TV then slept till I had to go to my next lecture. After that lecture I made my way to work. Not to be rude, but I found it highly entertaining to find a midget guy sitting outside Garbo with a midget dog. The dog looked like mine, just a little smaller and a little less feral looking (sorry Tangie baby! I don't mean to say you're ugly!)

I finally picked up my butt from my throne of procrastination to carry my lazy carcass to the gym. To be honest I was dragged by my feet kicking, clawing and screaming to be back upon that throne to veg out infront of the box (aka. TV). BUT I need motivation, and it's also a way to de-stress myself. It's pretty hard juggling work, school, friends, and church. I'm working on organising my time. I've stopped work on Saturays (this weeks my last work on Sat morns) so that I can get to YPG choir prac. And I still have some hours off to study and relax. It's only the start of the new semester, but I have a strong feeling my time is going to go on overload cos there's commitment to organising, writing and filming this short film assessment for Screen. And I have the experience of making short films. It took a group of about 10 of us, and about 3-4 months to write, film and edit a 4 minute short film that was to be sent to NSW (and was sent to the UK in March and submitted into the Mandurah Film Fest this month!) Now you do the maths. Plus I have no clue who the crew is, but I like working in groups :)

Uni tommorow at 3:30pm, BUT no sleeping in sadly. Got work at 8am till 12pm. Then going to meet up with a friend before my lecture! Sadly he changed his course to PSYCHOLOGY (raises fist in anger, you betrayer!) so we try to keep that friendship burning. *sigh* the times where lecture was over and we'd play table tennis until I got tired and then caught the bus home. Well my chair was kicked in the middle of a lecture and it was another person whom became a friend, I thought I was hearing voices, but she actually called out my name when I walked into the lecture room *grin* but getting busted in Dig Media tute for laughing too much, classic, and speaking too much of our minds, KIMMY GIRL YOU RULE! (Just not when you're laughing at my blog and our dodgy 3D animation attempts of spaceships). Enough reminiscing it's off to bed I must go cos i'm still as tired!

God Bless & Peace Out
